Endocrinology: Translational Pharmacology & Therapeutic Innovation

The Endocrine Clinical Unit has a high throughput of conditions that are rarely seen elsewhere, such as complex pituitary tumours, adrenal disease, hyperparathyroidism, differentiated thyroid tumours, endocrine malignancies and genetically-determined tumour-prone syndromes. The primary goal of the clinical department is meticulous assessment and optimal clinical care as well as research into the optimal diagnosis and treatment as well as outcomes of therapy for these patients. We have a particular interest in understanding the causes of familial pituitary adenomas. With the help of national and international collaboration (International FIPA consortium) Korbonits has collected a large cohort of familial pituitary adenoma families that has started to identify important candidates associated with disease.
